Brief Story : |
This is a story of Uttara, Kartik, Cyrus and Vyom. A story about their relationships - present, past and insight into future, their sensibilities and inner conflicts. The story unfolds in a span of a month, speaks about their emotional, intellectual pressures and tensions. The story finally ends on a melancholic note of farewell.
The play speaks about a small vacation. Vacation in this play implies a recess, a hiatus, and a space. In human relationships this space ought to be respected. The characters in this play are seeking this space. This play belongs to a realistic genre. The language and dialogues have been cast in the mould of this genre to maintain the realism in the audio-visual form.
All this is happening all the time around us. These are the people we could find in our neighbors, friends, or acquaintances. The play directly addresses today’s urban sensibilities. We all react to our environmental realities in a typical and routine format. It has become a habit with us to adopt convenient ‘isms’ in order to make sense of reality and to become captives of these pretenses and loose our authenticity.
“CHOTYASHYA SUTTIT” generates the feeling of restlessness, instigates us to find ourselves and our space and that is what makes it truly contemporary. |
